Man Trapped Under Heavy Machinery Rescued In Charlotte Hall Woods; Airlifted To Trauma Center - The BayNet
CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — A 61-year-old man was rescued after being pinned under forestry equipment in a wooded area near Charlotte Hall, Maryland, on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred on October 16, 2024, around 8:05 a.m. along power lines between Trinity Church Road and Budds Creek Road.
Fire and rescue crews responded to the scene, traversing approximately half a mile into the woods with specialized cutting, lifting, and stabilization equipment. The extrication process lasted about an hour, with a “Go-Team” (a physician-led team that complements our EMS system and can provide critical care and surgical services on-scene) on standby for additional support.
Following the successful rescue operation, the victim was airlifted by Maryland State Police Trooper 2 to Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore at 9:50 a.m. The cause of the accident and the man’s condition remain undisclosed as authorities continue their investigation.
