The drum of a cement truck came loose and rolled off the vehicle Thursday, spilling cement onto a road in West Bridgewater.
The incident happened at 5:30 a.m. as the truck turned off Route 28 onto Matfield Street.
Motorists drove around the mess in the roadway before police shut down the street.
Bill Doane said he arrived at his business nearby and saw police and tow trucks.
"They had the truck on the back of a tow truck," Doane said.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which remains under investigation.
"Thankfully, no one was hurt. That would be terrible because that weighs a lot," Doane said.
The truck belongs to Redi-Mix Services, a company operating out of Taunton, Massachusetts.
