A fire outside the Camden County Municipal Utilities Authority (CCMUA) Pump Station in West Collingswood Heights drew a multi-agency response Friday afternoon.
First responders from half-a-dozen local fire companies, hazmat teams, and county agencies arrived in the 200 block of Grandview Avenue just before 4 p.m. June 2 for a report of a fire.
Oaklyn Fire Chief Greg Grudzinski said a contractor's generator was ablaze outside the pump station when firefighters arrived.
With the flames impinging upon the building and a nearby oil tank, firefighters stretched four hand lines into service, and began knocking down the fire.
Everything was brought under control inside of half an hour. Hazmat units also were called in from Cherry Hill and Gloucester City to regulate a small spill of diesel fuel from a nearby drum, the chief said.

Smoke from the fire was reportedly visible some distance from the scene; Grudzinski said a column of smoke could be seen from Route 130 and Kendall Boulevard.
The fire is under investigation by the Camden County Fire Marshal. No injuries were reported, and the damage was confined to the exterior of the property.
At the scene were fire companies from Westmont, Audubon Park, Oaklyn, Cherry Hill, Gloucester City, and West Collingswood Heights, as well as officials from Mount Ephraim Police Reserves Incorporated (MEPRI) EMS, the Camden County Hazmat Team, CCMUA, and Office of the Fire Marshal.
