PHOTO PROVIDEDA golf shaft is a transmission. It transmits energy from your body to the clubhead to the golf ball. It can be violent or smooth. The shaft must fit the golfer.
The proper golf shaft creates a smooth and productive golf swing. If a golf shaft fits a person’s swing style and speed, they can swing within their comfort zone.
A golfer’s tempo is one of the most important factors when fitting a golf shaft. Swing speed and physical build are not the only concern when fitting a club. Even though tempo is a very important factor, some players with a smooth tempo may need a stiff shaft, and players with fast swings may need a regular flex.
For example, a person with a smooth, slower tempo but adds hands at the bottom of the swing may need a stiff shaft and a player with a fast swing with the hands moving smoothly through the hitting area may play better with a regular or medium stiff shaft.
Other factors include shaft torque, flex point, and shaft weight. See a master club fitter to get fit properly, enabling you to enjoy this great game called golf.
